A Trusted Taxi Service from East Midlands Airport to Heathrow
For a private taxi from East Midlands Airport (EMA) to London Heathrow (LHR), Local Taxis in Leicester is available 24 hours a day. The drive is about 115 miles, almost all of it on the M1 and M25, and usually takes two to two and a half hours.
Many passengers on this run are connecting to a long-haul flight, so we ask for your departure time as well as your landing. Your driver meets you at EMA’s Rapid Drop Off area and takes you to the terminal printed on your ticket, whether that’s Terminal 2, 3, 4 or 5.

Dropping Off at Heathrow
Gatwick runs two terminals, North and South, and each airline uses one of them. Check your booking confirmation, tell us which, and your driver will pull into that terminal’s Short Stay car park, a short walk from the departure hall. The parking fee is added at cost. Ended up at the wrong terminal? The free shuttle train links North and South around the clock and takes about two minutes.
How Booking and Pick-Up Work from EMA to Heathrow Airport
Four steps, whichever Heathrow terminal you’re flying from.
1
Book with Your Flight Details
Reserve through the website or by phone, giving us 3 to 4 hours' notice before your EMA landing. Mention your Heathrow terminal and departure time.
2
We Follow Your Flight
Live tracking tells your driver exactly when you're on the ground, early or late.
3
Your Driver Rings on Landing
Expect a call as soon as you touch down. There's no need to hurry through baggage reclaim, because the first 45 minutes of waiting cost nothing.
4
Meet at Rapid Drop Off
Head to EMA's Rapid Drop Off area and look for your car. If you'd like someone waiting in the arrivals hall holding your name, ask for meet & greet when booking.
Punctual. Comfortable. No Hassle.
Why Choose Our EMA to Heathrow Airport Taxi Service?
Long-haul check-in can close an hour before take-off. We plan the pick-up from that deadline, not just from your landing.
A diverted flight, a missed connection or a rebooked departure: call us any time, day or night, and we'll move the pick-up.
Intercontinental flights usually come with bigger luggage allowances. Our estate and MPV take 3 large cases each and the minibus takes 6, with room for smaller bags as well.
We don't send a car that isn't licensed for private hire, MOT'd and insured for hire and reward.

Questions People Ask
Fares start at £195 in a saloon. An estate car or MPV costs £255, and the 8-seat minibus £310. That’s for the whole vehicle, one way.
Usually two to two and a half hours. Allow closer to three at weekday peaks or on a busy holiday weekend.
With separate tickets, we’d plan on 7 hours or more from touchdown at East Midlands to a long-haul take-off at Heathrow. Clearing EMA can take an hour, the drive about 2½, and many airlines ask long-haul passengers to check in 3 hours ahead. Six hours is a sensible floor for short-haul.
At the Rapid Drop Off area. They’ll phone you once you’ve landed so you can head out with your bags. For £10, meet & greet brings them into the arrivals hall with your name on a board.
The one on your ticket. For Terminals 2, 3 and 5 we use the Short Stay car park. At Terminal 4 it’s the Level 2 drop point or the Short Stay car park.
Your driver waits for it. Free waiting runs for 45 minutes from when you actually land, and after that it’s 30p a minute.
No. One fare covers everyone in the car, so a full vehicle works out cheapest per head.
No. Heathrow sits well outside central London’s charging zone, and the M1 and M25 never enter it. The £18 charge is only added, at cost, on a journey that does go into the zone.
We don’t supply child seats. If your child needs one, please bring it along.
You’ll get a full refund if you cancel at least 6 hours before pick-up, normally back on your card within 7 to 10 working days. Call 0116 275 7575 to change the time or address.
Yes, but it takes several changes. There’s no railway station at the airport, so you’d catch a bus to East Midlands Parkway, a train to London St Pancras, then the Piccadilly line from King’s Cross St Pancras out to Heathrow.
Reserve Your EMA to Heathrow Taxi
Send us your arrival flight and your Heathrow departure, and we’ll confirm a pick-up time that works for both.
