A Dependable Taxi Service from East Midlands Airport to Manchester
Local Taxis in Leicester offers private taxis from East Midlands Airport (EMA) to Manchester Airport (MAN) on any day of the year, at any hour. It’s roughly 80 miles, mostly on the A50 and M6, and the drive normally takes around an hour and a half.
Manchester is the UK’s busiest airport outside London and has long-haul routes that East Midlands doesn’t, which is why some passengers land at EMA and fly on from there. Pick-up is from EMA’s Rapid Drop Off area, and at Manchester you’re dropped in the Short Stay car park beside Terminal 2 or Terminal 3, a few minutes from check-in.

Arriving at Manchester Airport
Terminal 1 closed in 2026, so Manchester now runs from Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Airlines are split between the two, so check your booking to see which one you need. Your driver stops at that terminal’s Short Stay car park, and the parking charge is passed on at cost. If you find you’re at the wrong terminal, the two are linked on foot by the airport’s Skylink walkway.

Frequently Asked Questions about Manchester Tranfer
£195 if you book a saloon, £255 for an estate car or MPV, and £290 for the 8-seat minibus, one way, however many people are travelling.
About an hour and a half on a normal day. At peak times on the M6, or on a busy summer Saturday, it can take two hours or a little more.
If they’re booked separately, give yourself at least 6 hours from landing at East Midlands to a long-haul departure from Manchester: about an hour to leave EMA, up to two hours on the road, and the three hours long-haul airlines usually recommend for check-in. Five hours is reasonable for a short-haul flight.
Yes, though it isn’t direct. You’d need a bus to East Midlands Parkway, a train to Sheffield, and then a TransPennine Express service to Manchester Airport station. A cab does it in one go, with your cases in the boot.
Outside the terminal, in the Rapid Drop Off area, after a call to let you know they’re there. If you’d prefer to be met in the arrivals hall, meet & greet costs £10.
Yes. Tell us whether your booking says Terminal 2 or Terminal 3 and we’ll take you to that terminal’s Short Stay car park.
Not at all. Because the flight is tracked, your driver simply arrives for the new landing time. You still get 45 minutes free from touchdown, then 30p for each extra minute.
Not for the same vehicle. You’re charged for the car, so filling every seat doesn’t change the price.
No. The £18 Congestion Charge only covers central London, and this drive heads north-west, well away from it.
No. Parents need to bring their own child seat if one is required.
Give us 6 or more hours’ notice before pick-up and the whole fare comes back to you, normally inside 7 to 10 working days. Changes to a booking can be made on 0116 275 7575.
