Your Reliable EMA to Luton Airport Taxi Service
Need a cab from East Midlands Airport (EMA) to Luton (LTN)? Local Taxis in Leicester runs this transfer around the clock. At about 85 miles it’s the shortest trip from EMA to any airport, and it usually takes an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half.
Your driver picks you up from EMA’s Rapid Drop Off area and sets you down at Luton’s drop-off zone, so there’s very little walking with cases at either end. Luton has a single terminal building, which keeps the arrival simple too.
Open 24/7
We take bookings for early flights, late landings and everything in between.
No Surprise Fares
What you're quoted at booking is what you pay, even if the M1 slows to a crawl.
Licensed Drivers
Behind the wheel is always a driver with a council private hire licenced and a passed DBS check.
Saloons to Minibuses
Four sizes of car, from a saloon for one passenger to a minibus for eight.

Arriving at Luton Airport
Everything at Luton happens in one terminal building, so you won’t need to work out where to go. Your driver uses the airport’s drop-off zone, about five minutes on foot from the departure hall, and the fee charged there is passed on at cost. Security queues can build on busy summer mornings, so it pays not to cut things fine.

Frequently Asked Questions about Luton Transfer
A saloon costs £165. Step up to an estate car or MPV for £195, or book the 8-seat minibus for £275. Everyone in the vehicle travels for that one price.
Normally 75 to 90 minutes. Weekday rush hour around Milton Keynes and Luton can push it towards two hours.
Travelling on two separate bookings? Leave yourself 5 hours or more between touchdown at EMA and take-off at Luton. That gives you up to an hour to get out of EMA, about an hour and a half on the M1, and a couple of hours for check-in and security.
There’s a rail option, but not from the airport itself. You’d take a bus to East Midlands Parkway, a train towards London as far as Luton Airport Parkway, then the DART shuttle up to the terminal. By cab it’s one journey with your luggage in the boot.
In the Short Stay car park right outside the airport’s only terminal.
They’ll phone when your flight lands and wait in the Rapid Drop Off area. Prefer to be met in the arrivals hall? Meet & greet costs £10.
At the airport’s drop-off zone, about a five-minute walk from the terminal. We pass on whatever the airport charges for using it, without adding anything.
No. We’ll know about it because we track the flight, and the 45 minutes of free waiting start from your actual landing time, and after that waiting is 30p a minute.
For pick-ups at East Midlands Airport we ask for 3 to 4 hours’ notice. If you need a cab sooner because your plans have changed, call 0116 275 7575 and we’ll tell you what’s available.
No. The £18 charge only covers central London, and the drive to Luton never goes near it.
Child seats aren’t supplied, so please travel with your own if you need one.
Yes. Cancelling 6 or more hours ahead of pick-up gets you a full refund, which takes 7 to 10 working days to reach your card. For changes, phone 0116 275 7575.
